Senior Instructor, House League and Bowling Pins Coordinator
@counter_guy
Joshua (Josh) Imel is a Senior Instructor at Indy Arms and coordinates Indy Arms’ House League and Bowling Pins shoots. He is firm believer that you are your own first responder. Based on his beliefs and after serving in the Marines, he obtained training certifications with the National Rifle Association (NRA), United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA), Tactical Training Associates (TTA), and holds a 5-day Force Science certification in order to help teach others how to help themselves. Additionally, he is a certified Glock armorer, graduate of Front Sight, and YouTube scholar. Josh’s passion for firearms drives him to learn as much as he can, using his first-hand accounts of working at multiple ranges to see what products work and what doesn’t. Josh is constantly taking additional training to improve his knowledge base and further information to his students. He also shares the “a way not the way” perspective of training and is constantly on the lookout for new ideas to incorporate into his own instruction.
Josh has been instrumental in implementing the Glock Shooting Sports Foundation (GSSF) competition, IDPA, and the IAC House league as events into the range. He is constantly working with the other Training staff to bring you the best training we can with additional classes and private events. You can also find him on the sales floor giving solid advice on first time purchases to find that perfect new gun no matter the use.
Being an Avid 2nd Amendment supporter Josh doesn’t get far away from guns. His passion takes him to participate in several different shooting outlets. He is trap and IDPA shooter, long range rifle competitor with CIHPRS, GSSF Outdoor Master Competitor, and keeps his pistol proficiency up by shooting after work. When he isn’t shooting, you’ll find him on the Monon trail biking.
Josh teaches a number of Indy Arms courses, including; Introduction to Handguns, Basic Defensive Handgun/Rifle/Shotgun, Tactical Handgun I, II, & III, USCCA Concealed Carry, Tactical Rifle I, and the other courses.
