Tactical Handgun 1 is the first of a series of three Tactical Handgun classes that address the essential skills required to use a handgun as an effective self-defense tool. Basic marksmanship ability and an understanding of the rule of law governing the use of force in self-defense are certainly a necessary part of this skill set. But for those seeking serious competence, a much broader set of abilities is required. Each of the three Tactical Handgun classes builds on the skills and techniques taught and practiced in the preceding classes.
The class will consist of about 2.5 hours of classroom time and 1.5 hours of live-fire range time.
The class requires 150 rounds of ammunition.
Course Goal To begin the structured development of the fundamental skills required to comfortably and effectively carry and use a handgun for personal defense, and to provide the student with techniques and exercises to develop and refine these skills.
